Elana Charlson

Associate

Elana comes to Reservoir with a background in health policy research and a passion for advancing health equity. She combines her experiences in mixed-method research, strategic communications, and advocacy to help clients communicate complex healthcare issues and develop innovative policy solutions.

Prior to joining Reservoir, Elana worked at Avalere, where she conducted health equity research on issues related to women’s brain health, Medicaid expansion, and vaccine coverage and access. Across projects, she crafted analytical insights and messaging toolkits to help life sciences companies and advocacy groups understand the sociopolitical factors impacting patient access to and uptake of healthcare services. In her undergraduate experience, Elana worked as a research assistant in the Development of Identities in Cultural Environments (DICE) Lab at Northwestern University, where she conducted qualitative research examining how social determinants shape developmental outcomes for children and young adults with marginalized identities.

Elana graduated Summa Cum Laude from Northwestern University with a B.A. in Psychology and a minor in Global Health Studies.
