Jeanette Contreras has a strong track record of enhancing healthcare access and equity through strategic patient advocacy. She has held leadership roles in prominent non-profits, including the Biotechnology Innovation Organization (BIO), UnidosUS (formerly the National Council of La Raza), the National Consumers League, and the American Academy of Family Physicians. Jeanette serves on the Board of Directors for the Society of Hispanic Rare Diseases (Sociedad Hispana de Enfermedades Raras) and Mom Congress. She began her career in the legislative office of the National Cancer Institute at the National Institutes of Health, dedicating over a decade to public service at the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS). She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science from California State University, Los Angeles, and a Master’s degree in Public Policy from American University in Washington, D.C.
