Sofia comes to Reservoir with a strong background in both health advocacy and communications. Her diverse experiences allow her to understand the interplay of various contexts and successfully elevate client narratives.

Sofia discovered her passion for health communications as an intern for Friends of the Global Fight, the US advocacy arm for The Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria. During her time at Friends, she worked on various reports, notably on the role of integrated people-centered care in achieving universal health coverage. She also produced media content and campaign materials.

Most recently, Sofia interned at Petkanas Strategies, where she worked with clients to advocate for state-paid family and medical leave laws.

Her undergraduate studies provided her with the opportunity to work with the National Institutes of Health’s All of Us Research Program, where she promoted the use of datasets of biomedically underrepresented individuals to multiple stakeholders.

Sofia graduated Summa Cum Laude from American University with a B.A. in International Relations and a minor in Public Health.
