Emma is a board-certified genetic counselor with a passion for public policy that ensures patient access while fostering continued healthcare innovation. Throughout her career Emma has recognized the integral role of communications in breaking down complex concepts to a range of audiences, from direct patient education to nuanced environment-shaping campaigns. She brings a multidisciplinary-focus to her strategic approach, blending practical insights from her work in clinical genetics with more than 15 years of foundational policy and advocacy experience in the life sciences sector, including roles at GRAIL, Eli Lilly, and PhRMA.
Emma’s grounding centers in issues impacting personalized medicine, R&D, oncology, and rare diseases. She has collaborated closely with the advocacy community in driving progress on shared priorities. She is a fierce patient advocate, continuing her work as a cancer genetic counselor, helping patients navigate healthcare decisions and break down systemic barriers to accessing care.
Emma serves as the Vice-Chair of the Advocacy Committee for the National Society of Genetic Counselors. She obtained her M.S. in Genetic Counseling from Boston University, her M.S. in Biotechnology from Georgetown University, and her B.S. in Biology from Virginia Tech.
